about

Glenn Phillip's "best of" album Echoes 1975-1985 was called a “flawlessly compiled record of a decade's worth of music" and given 4 stars by Rolling Stone upon it's release in 1992. Now the first eleven tracks from the album are receiving some fresh accolades as Phillips re-releases his first solo album Lost at Sea on vinyl four decades after it's debut. Uncut Magazine gave it "9 out of 10" and Record Collector gave it 5 out of 5 stars. This is the album that led famed UK entrepreneur Richard Branson to fly to Atlanta in 1975 and sign Phillips to Virgin Records. The reissue was released by Shagrat Records overseas and Feeding Tube in the U.S, and the entire original album is available digitally only on Echoes 1975-1985 via A Train.

"One of the best homemade prog LPs of the era. Hints of McLaughlin, Zappa and Duane Allman all manage to coexist in an instrumental jungle that is dense, angular and boss". - Feeding Tube

"Draw a line between the nimble dexterity of a John McLaughlin and the soulfulness of a Richard Thompson and somewhere down the track you’ll find Glenn Phillips." - Phil McMullen / Terrascope
